A seasoned media executive with a proven track record in developing and producing quality scripted content for global audiences, Christina Wayne is Managing Director of MBC STUDIOS.
Joining MBC GROUP in February 2023, Wayne comes to the organisation with over two decades of international experience, having previously served as the Principal International Creative Executive and Head of Canada and Australia at Amazon Studios. In this role, she managed the creative aspects of all international scripted series, working closely with local teams in over 20 countries. Wayne was also responsible for overseeing local original workshops and ensuring the creative quality of series during all stages of development, production, and post-production.
Before her time at Amazon Studios, Wayne founded Television School, an online educational platform that teaches the creative and business aspects of creating scripted series. She also served as the CEO of Assembly Entertainment, where she developed and produced scripted series for cable and digital platforms worldwide.
Wayne’s extensive background in the entertainment industry includes her time as President of Cineflix Studios, where she oversaw the company’s scripted programming, and served as an executive producer on BBC America’s “Copper”. She also held the position of Senior VP of Scripted Programming at AMC, where she was instrumental in the development and production of the Emmy and Golden Globe-winning drama series, “Mad Men”, “Breaking Bad”, and “Broken Trail”.
As a screenwriter and director, Wayne has also developed her own projects, including the feature “Tart”, which she wrote and directed.
A graduate of Barnard College, Columbia University, Wayne is a member of the Writers’ Guild of America.
